The Parish Trust

Beautiful  Beautiful Beautiful
The Parish Trust diligently collect and curate antiques from the dead and dying industries. Perusing basements, boxes and personal stashes for the odd, obsolete and unusual. Hand picking artists from coast to coast to collaborate and showcasing it all in their gussied up little bunker.
Proprietors: Rod Hipskind & Kelly Ishikawa.... well DUH! No wonder its such a BEautiful Place
Rod is a stylist who I've had the pleasure of working with!
He definitely understand  how to hook my eye as a photographer:-)
Really great finds and in such a beautiful interiour in San Francisco
and they have Warby Parker!

The Mill

Yes, San Francisco, Thank you for making what seems plain and ordinary, the MOST WONDERFUL THING EVER!
The Mill, on divisadero street in San Francisco serves up gourmet toast. Yes Toast, (well and coffee) before you say anything ...It is the most amazing toast you can have!
It is a joint venture between Josey Baker Bread and Four Barrel Coffee and it is a great place to start the day or take a mid-day break and relax.

Shirts

I am overjoyed with how these shirts turned out.
These are some of the African Fabrics I brought back from Paris,Thank you to my friend Raphaël.
I thought to use them for inspiration , back-rounds and then I thought.....what about shirts:-)
Actually, in Paris I realized how monochromatic everything is. Beautiful yes, but one day in the gray skies,
the stone buildings and everyone dressed in black and gray, a door opened and the beautiful African woman
wrapped in colorful fabrics smiled as she stepped out onto the street. You couldn't help but be happy to see her radiated  down the street, like a beautiful ray of sun in the fog of gray.
I was directed to an amazing tailor in San Moreno, Bill Cairo Custom Tailors.
I  gave the details of what I imagined for the shirts and was
blown away by the expertise and detail given.
From the cut of the pattern and the detail in sewing, they are really works of art.
Now I  smile every time I see them ... even just hanging in the closet.

Right Time, Right Place ...Right People...

Amazing right? Thanks to my Friend Raphaël, who saw and brought to my attention... I am appearing with André Léon Talley on Vanity fair's web site
...I didn't make print .. but still cool!

This is from my post "Outside Alexander McQueen Prêt à porter saison Automne Hiver 2013/2014"
Its so funny I maneuvered myself to a opening in the crowd and never thinking I would be photographed ...It was just me and  André
I think I identified the photographer from my pictures...in a green jacket :-)

Peach Dessert

I am loving this Peach dessert I made , inspired by a friends idea/recipe.
1/2 a cup of soaked (over night) raw cashews
1 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon almond coconut milk or soy milk
2 large peaches
1 tablespoon maple syrup
juice of 1/2 of a medium sized lemon
First soak raw unsalted cashews in water overnight,(I enjoy the organic raw cashews from Sunfoods).
Next take 1/2 cup of the soaked cashews, the water, almond or soy milk and maple syrup (from Dean at Maple tree farm ,of course) and puree in a good blender or food processor until smooth (you can add small amounts water or almond /soy to help smooth out the nut cream)
Then cut the peaches and add to the mix along with the lemon juice and blend until smooth puree
Pour mixture into a freezer safe baking dish and put in the freezer

after a couple of hours take a fork and break up the mixture (similar to a granita or sorbet) scraping across the top, repeat this as often as you like or need until mixture is light and icy
then serve it up!!! I added some mint from the garden but you could top it however you feel
It light and refreshing dessert for Summer!
thanks Taaj!
