Maple Tree Farm

I had the privilege of heading to New Hampshire and meeting Dean of Maple Tree Farm.
Throughout the 1990's working with Country Home and Matthew Mead I was introduced to the splendors of the NorthEast. Un-knowingly I was buying Deans Maple Syrup from local shops and bringing it back to friends in NYC as a gift...Well The Maple Syrup is like no other and I was fortunate enough to learn why and finally meet Dean, He is an Amazing and Wonderful Man.
He gave me a gracious tour of his property and trees. I was amazed how much goes into maple syrup and yet how thoughtful, productive and efficient he has made it.
I always think of Maple syrup in the fall and was surprised to learn its made in spring... go figure! Dean explained how his process works , when, where and what kind of trees he sugars from. and walked me through the entire process ... which he also explains on his web-site
He is such an honorable character and it shows in the integrity of his product.
I was surprised to learn all the uses of maple syrup... (I LOVE it in my morning coffee) The flavor is so specific and comforting, (I will not even mention Maple Cream, Maple crystals ...oops!)
Regular sugar seems chemical/sterile tasting to me now. In fact I use maple syrup for my bread recipes..It adds a comforting character to the flavor of the bread
Dean is also an amazing resource for Maple syrup history and let me see his collection of  antique syrup tins and maple cake tins as well as wooden taps and buckets
Check out his web-site there is a wealth of knowledge and ideas about maple syrup .... Consider its other possibility..... Its not just good for pancakes.

Blend Hamburger Gourmet

Ok you maybe wondering why I would have this Hamburger and Fries on my Blog .. Well because it a pretty AMAZING VEGGIE BURGER! YES! Veggi (I'll stop shouting) I am lucky enough to have it right down the street from where I a staying in Paris and It is Fantastic! Its Called Blend
This one is the "veggie smoke" and its bleu cheese and veggie burger and just yummy!
I spoke with one of the owners and he said that they frequently travels to places just to try burgers and explore flavor combinations and is heading out to California this week to go burger tasting. The menu is pretty basic but everything they do is done brilliantly, from the fries, regular and sweet potato, to the sauces and ketchup and even cookies.
I am watching it become more popular ( the line out the front door grows longer everyday) but luckily you can have "emporter"
Well there is one  more great Vegetarian suggestion in Paris!

Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature

Tucked away in the 3eme is a Facinating museum. Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature,(museum of Hunting and Nature).Exhibits celebrate the relationships between humans and the natural environment through the traditions and practices of hunting. Raphaël and I enjoyed the exhibition "Cibes". The museum is such an interesting mix of  historical educational and thought provoking art.
Really a great time exploring, learning and thinking.

It was such cool and crazy evening and I really could not believe, how wonderful it is that Opening Ceremony and Kenzo have been catching my eye lately with their great campaigns and exciting design and look, then I get to meet the people behind them!!! Amazing!

Outside Alexander McQueen Prêt à porter saison Automne Hiver 2013/2014

Well, Not sure if you remember last year when I tried to capture Alexander McQueens show, It was at night and  I really was not prepared for the spectacle I was about to see! It was however a great learning process and thats what I wanted ..... you have to start somewhere ¿right?
This year I was happy to see the show was at 4:30pm (still daylight) and in my neighborhood  at Opéra Comique, place Boieldieu, Paris 2e. So I thought I would go and take what I learned and try again :-)
Now I didn't get into the show but had an amazing and educational time outside
Take a look.....
Its fun to be remember it all used to be contact sheets ....so old school
ok here are some fun
and here's some of the more notorious subjects of Fashion I caught
It was exciting and fun but also a total reality show.... My favorite on-lookers
were these guys ..cracking up at the spectacle of "Fashion Week"

Ps I did love this
photographers were having people walk down the little side streets and I kept hearing ...now don't look at me,  while all the car were honking for them to get out of the road.
The other fascinating thing to do was get on an iPhone in front of a nice backdrop
and Grace Coddington came right for me and then I found myself in the misted of a frenzy.
And from across The plaza I see the Fabulous

ANDRÉ LEON TALLEY

You Go André!!!!

What a thrilling Afternoon

Palais de Tokyo

A beautiful Sunday, the sun is shining and a wonderful day to go to the museum Palais de Tokyo.
The Museum is such and interesting place with a mix of Ancient European architecture  and Modern conceptual Art. Such a stark contrast.
Its one of those places where you wonder if the exposed utilities are a new exhibition or someone has not finished plastering up the wall yet
"Soleil Froid" is an amazing exhibit of  light and reflections exploring color and space.
Its wonderful to expose yourself to these kinds of exhibitions, however weird you think they are. It help you be aware of your surrounding and reconsider things we assume  or take for granted about the fascinating world we live in.
