Sunset Magazine March Issue 2013

Get a load of this!!!! All that work in the Garden paid off... I was so excited to hear that Conor owner of minifarmbox had spoken to Sunset Magazine. He was showing them the documentation of our progress on the garden from my blog and they flipped to do a story on it.
And Looked what Happened :-)
Cool HUH?
Now the only awkward part is the food recipes and the fabulous food photography is not mine, but all in all its Great Story for a nasty patch of land down the hill.. that Conor at minifarmbox and Nysha at Ardenwood edibles and Andrew (my guy who helps and teaches me about the bees) turn into a real paradise for me
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!
there is also an online issue to check out

Bebe Zahara Benet

I recently had the fortune to work with the Amazing and talented Bebe Zahara Benet . We have done a couple of session.... some of which are for upcoming new projects !!! coming out soon...so keep an eye open!
If you do not know, Bebe is a female illusionist and the first winner of  Rupaul's Drag Race, season 1. This session in NYC  was beneficial (and Fun) as we pushed ourselves to explore "the illusion"
It is interesting that it really pokes at certain elemental boundary with the way we identify and stereo type people..... our brain managing all the stimulation around us. At times not knowing whether to say "he" or "she".
It really emphasizes the saying "don't judge a book by its cover" and that is some of the fun with creativly working with Bebe.

Yoga Hawaii

Now, I don't really do yoga but after seeing Maya's poses on the beach I could not pass up the offer to come to her studio, Yoga Hawaii, and give a try. It was great! She is such a wonderful, patient and sensitive teacher and the studios are so peaceful, relaxing and inspirational.
After class she convinced me to get in front of the camera.......
Thanks Maya for a wonderful Class and an incredibly fun day!!!!
Make sure you check out

Yoga Hawaii
and
take a class with Maya or join her on a retreat :-)

Honolulu with Maya

I was able to spend an extra day in Honolulu to hang out with my friend Maya! She owns and runs a Yoga studio in Honolulu
We met at a great Breakfast spot in Waikiki  beach called Cream Pot
the weather was so beautiful we sat outside and had Cranberry lemonade with me, Salted Caramel and Banana Pancakes and Maya, the Hawaiian Eggs Benedict ..... Yummmmmm!
Afterwords she took me to one of her Favorite beaches to hang out and shoot some photo's of her in yoga poses:-)
I rarely do yoga but She tempted to come to her class that afternoon
(I had to work off the pancake ¿right? :-))

The NoMad NYC

Ok I am In Love with is place!
The NoMad Hotel in New York City!
It is so exquisite and Bravo to French Interior designer, Jacques Garcia
My friend Raphaël ,in Paris, saw on Facebook that I was visiting Kitsuné and ask me to say hello to a friend/colleague who was there for work. Well, She was in a meeting but Kitsuné staff were kind enough to explain the relationship and give me a tour of the hotel. So, On this visit I had to book a room to check it out. I was amazed! The service and hospitality is outstanding. Everything about this hotel and brand is spectacular. This is a real gem
I was so inspired by the colors, the view the light.
Everything in the room, restaurant and the library bar is so intentional simple comfortable and beautiful.
I highly recommend you check it out
for a stay or to dine at the restaurant (Chef Daniel's  food is extremely delicious and innovative) or even stop for a coffee at the Library Bar
You will not be disappointed!
(I am trying to convince them to make room 908 my permanent residence;-))

AFTERMATH - Volunteering after Sandy

Flying into NYC on the red-eye, over the city just before sunrise you could really see the effect of Sandy. I was amazed to see where all the electricity was out in Queens and Long Island and the amount of coastline that was washed out and homes just devastated. You begin to understand the awe of nature and devastation left by hurricane sandy.
My Friend Taaj found places for us to go and volunteer our time to help after I arrived. Met some other friends  and made some new.
God Bless NewYorkers for that strength to pick up and move forward!
We also brought blankets people still are without power and heat and that can be deadly with cold weather coming...
Red Cross and organizations still need money and helping hands especially for the elderly or homebound people and animals

Here are some links to help and new

Hanging out at the Park Bar ;-)

My Friend Taaj is amazing!

I was fortunate enough to hang with her at the Park and see some of her daily exercise
She works in physical training and therapies and has been a Huge inspiration in helping me stand up straighter  and to be a taller stronger person
She is incredible as a  person and  an athlete
Thank you!
