After a long day at Capsule we had a fun night out to celebrate at Chez Omar! Such great Moroccan Food and I really enjoyed the veggie Cous Cous I highly recommend, but get there early ...Its amazing how packed it gets

7/31 and Ginger-Up

I went to visit the most Amazing Book store in Paris...OFR and found that they had rented the cafe gallery to an amazing clothes designer 7/31 to show their new collection along with Furniture designer Ginger-up. Both innovative and creative designers!

SevenThirtyOne

Two girls, defne Husrevoglu and MAIKO suzuki were BOTH born on ISLANDS. MAIKO is from the island of Japan, and Husrevoglu is from an island in Canada. BOTH headed to Paris for different reasons, and met under the same roof in the ghettos of Paris.  They soon discovered that they happen to share the same birthday, JULY 31ST, inspiring their name “SEVENTHIRTYONE”. They hit it off right away, and started planning for the future. Nothing will ever stop these two girls. One day, one girl had an idea to do a collection in SEVEN days. Her new friend agreed and the rest is history.

“SEVENTHIRTYONE” is a clothing line inspired by the two girls’ unique culture and backgrounds. The result… CANADIAN JAPANESE RETRO. The collection is all about quality, texture and shape.
All of the fabrics have been collected in the heart of PARIS.

It is so Cool to see an American Classic making a huge impact in Paris. A brand that I think we take for granted in the USA is something so new and interesting to Europeans! I also felt proud to see such a historic American brand with labels "Made in the USA' how many companies have managed to keep that label:-)

Meet Isabell De Hillerin

German designer Isabell de Hillerin completed her fashion design studies in 2009 at the ‚Felicidad Duce‘ in Barcelona. Since than she exhibited at the Creamoda Bilbao, thekey.to Berlin, Ethical fashion Show Paris and Arts of Fashion Philadelphia. She recently moved to Berlin to create her own label.

Lutz Paris Automne Hiver 2012 2013

I was fortunate and so excited to be able to attend  Lutz Fashion show in Paris for Autumn Winter 2012/13

I was lucky to pick up the Agenda for Fashion week from a friend

 and excited to see if I can see any other shows . This was a great start...and I had one of those realizations ....I'm one of those camera guys at the end of a runway of Paris Fashion Show!!!!!

Whannnn Waaaaaannnnnnn..... Winter Garden Lost the prize!

We I am sad to say that the winter garden did not do as well as I had hoped..... (although my expectations were pretty high from that summer crop) We did enjoy some Greens and Broccoli ...no lettuce or carrots or beets or brussel sprouts or cauliflower or celery but there is hope for some Fava beans and Leeks and maybe artichoke :-)

The summer has just been to hot here in LA and the garden gets more sun that we expected...so it just never got the chance to get going in all the heat (that most likely why summer did so well)

and I am not making excuses but the wind storms did knock out the power and that made issue with the water timer as well

We learned something though and isn't that the point ...right :-) Next year we try again with the knowledge that we now know

8x10 Sepia Polaroid Patrice

I photographed Patrice in his new suit. As I photographed these I thought how sad it was I did have my 8x10 polaroid anymore... so I recreated what I enjoyed from shooting 8x10 from my digital files..Like a really detailed personal instagram.....How do you think I did ?:-)

Today Andrew stopped by to check up on things and could not believe how well the bees are doing! The hive is growing strong and fast so we added a box to the top to give them more room to expand. If things keep going we might have honey by April!
